I had three major questions about the form factor of Apple's new iPhone Duo , and wondered if it would work for me. After some time with it, I have my answers. Holding the new iPhone Duo There are a lot of ways Apple could have approached the first folding iPhone. I've tested a lot of the other popular folding smartphones and while I loved the idea, none had me sold. While I was debating if I should switch to the iPhone Duo, I had hesitation. Marking a stolen iPhone as lost instantly locks your data, but the real race is securing your accounts before the thief does. Here is how to lock it down and recover. What do I do if my iPhone was stolen? Your first instinct may be to retrace the day and check under car seats, behind couch cushions, or anywhere you recently used your iPhone. Do that, but secure the missing iPhone immediately while you search so a simple loss doesn't turn into stolen access to your accounts. The hardware is replaceable. What's harder to replace is the access your iPhone carries, including passwords, payment cards, verification codes, and often the only trusted connection to your Apple Account. Apple's first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo , officially launched today, Friday October 23. Pre-order deliveries are arriving to customers, but supply is extremely tight – although anyone who didn't order in advance may still be able to buy one in person, depending on local availability. That said, Apple has said it expects supply to sell out quickly. ‌iPhone Duo‌ pre-orders began October 16, with shipping estimates on Apple's online store for newly-placed orders getting pushed back to January 25 within the first 30 minutes of pre-orders starting . That gives you some idea of just how popular the device is proving to be. Apple said earlier this week that Apple Stores will have limited ‌iPhone Duo‌ stock for walk-in customers today, in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Mexico, and several European countries. Walk-in purchases won't be possible in France, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the UAE, where customers need a pickup reservation. Earlier this week, Apple's U.S. online store advised customers to check back on Saturday, October 24 for Apple Store pickup reservations, indicating stock levels may be replenished quickly. At the same time, stock levels may also vary by store depending on region – MacRumors was able buy an ‌iPhone Duo‌ at Apple Edinburgh early this morning with no problem, while staff there said they had received more units than expected. The same is unlikely to be true of all stores, though. In the U.S., Apple is limiting purchases to two per customer. The ‌iPhone Duo‌ starts at $1,999 for 256GB, and is available in Star White and Night Sky. Other storage configurations include 512GB ($2,199), 1TB ($2,599), and 2TB ($3,199).
