It wouldn't be surprising if Apple increased production of the iPhone Duo because of demand, but a new report is conflating two different figures to conclude that there's been a great increase. Being able to open to different degrees requires a hinge design that is complex to manufacture in volume. Apple has called the demand for the iPhone Duo "extraordinary," and vowed to do all it could to fulfil orders quickly. Unsurprisingly, then, Digitimes is reporting that Apple has increased its order for the iPhone Duo by around 44%. The report says that this means an increase from 9.7 million devices to 14 million over the iPhone Duo's first year. It's odd that it would cover roughly September 2026 to September 2027, instead of up to the end of 2027, but perhaps it's because an iPhone Duo 2 may launch then. After a year of use, it remains clear that the Apple Vision Pro benefits from the power of M5, even if not much else changed. Apple's work is far from over. Apple Vision Pro review: one year into M5 and there's not much to say I'm writing this review with ten Safari tabs open in a carousel, Drafts below, Music in a mini player on my right, and various social apps behind me. The Apple Vision Pro with M5 isn't showing signs of strain, and that's even with visionOS 27 running as I write some portions of this review. It shouldn't be. It's M5 after all. A new report claims that not only is Apple aiming to add Face ID to a future iPhone Duo , but that it may not need a notch or cutout. Future iPhone Duo models may add under-display Face ID to the front screen. While the first iPhone Duo appears to be something of a hit, it is lacking the key Face ID feature from other iPhones . It would be startling if Apple weren't working to add this, but according to Bloomberg , it's coming . Specifically, it will come as soon as the next generation of the iPhone Duo. It is to be Face ID as we know it, but the sensor will be under the display. Rumor Score: 🤔 Possible Continue Reading on AppleInsider | Discuss on our Forums
Tesla this week updated its app with native iPad and iPhone Duo support, adapting its vehicle and home energy controls for larger displays. Previously, ‌iPad‌ users could install the iPhone app, but it lacked native support with a layout designed for the larger screen. The new interface essentially uses two columns, with navigation and controls on the left and a larger visualization of the vehicle or home on the right. Tesla designer Alex Guichet announced the update on October 21, sharing screenshots and confirming support for Android tablets and foldable devices as well. The release arrives ahead of the ‌iPhone Duo‌'s launch on Friday, October 23. The Tesla App is rolling out now for iPad, iPhone Duo, and Android Tablets and Foldables. Finally on the big screens you bring around with you https://t.co/xfsqvMvTDa — Alex Guichet (@AlexGuichet) October 21, 2026 The vehicle view provides access to features such as climate, charging, and security, alongside a large rendering of the car and shortcuts for vehicle controls. The home energy view displays power flowing between solar panels, a Powerwall, the home, and the grid. Tesla's design team reworked multiple views to take advantage of the additional space, with further refinements planned for future releases. The update follows Apple's opening of App Store submissions for ‌iPhone Duo‌ apps earlier this month. Existing iPhone apps can run on the device, but apps need to be built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later to dynamically resize to fill its inner display. Unoptimized apps appear with black borders. Version 4.62.0 of Tesla's app is now available on the App Store for the iPhone, ‌iPad‌, and Apple Watch.
