The Apple Upgrade program is here, giving consumers ways to lease even more products. Here's how much you'll pay to lease your hardware, and what happens when the lease term has ended. Apple Upgrade lets you lease an iPhone 17, as well as other hardware. On July 28, Apple launched the Apple Upgrade program to replace the iPhone Upgrade Program. One that also enables consumers to buy more than just iPhones. Under the new program, consumers can elect to lease a Mac , an iPad , or an Apple Watch , as well as an iPhone. Maybe it's more common for people to deliberately push their way into a waiting car they know isn't theirs, but it can also happen by accident. That's perhaps especially true when you are at a crowded event and everybody in sight has also booked a ride. To solve this, Apple has once again been granted a patent called "Augmented reality interface for facilitating identification of arriving vehicle," which it was previously awarded in 2023. As expected, the Apple Upgrade program launched today , allowing customers in the U.S. to lease most iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac models. While the program is offered by Apple, the leasing is handled by financing company Klarna. The program essentially allows you to subscribe to an Apple device with monthly payments. At the end of the lease, you can return your device and either upgrade to a new one or move on. If you prefer to own your device at the end of the lease, you can pay an amount equal to the retail price minus any lease payments made to Klarna. No matter which option you choose at the end of your lease, you will never pay more than the retail price of the device, according to Apple.
