M6 iMac Sticks With Its Five-Year-Old Color Lineup

The new M6 iMac models come in the same color options as the 2024 model, despite reports suggesting we could see new shades. You can buy the M6 iMac in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. Those are the seven colors that Apple used for the original 2021 ‌iMac‌ design. Apple tweaked the colors in 2024 to make the back of the ‌iMac‌ a more vibrant shade in those seven colors, but no further changes were made this year. Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman said back in August that "some new color options" would be available for the M6 ‌iMac‌ models, but unfortunately, we're stuck with the colors we've had for years. The new ‌iMac‌ has the M6 chip that was previously added to the Mac mini . It also includes a faster SSD and an N1 networking chip with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Pricing starts at $1,499. iMacs still ship with color-matched accessories and cables, so color choice matters more than with most Mac purchases. Pre-orders for the M6 ‌iMac‌ start on October 28 at 10:10 a.m. Pacific Time, and it launches on Friday, November 6. Who's crying out for a touchscreen MacBook Pro? There have long been rumors of Apple's plans to release a new laptop that will sit above the current 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros in its lineup. It may or may not be called the MacBook Ultra, although it seems unlikely at this point. The name is just one question mark that continues to loom large over what should otherwise be an exciting new laptop. There's talk of an OLED display, a first for Apple's Mac lineup, as well as Apple's almost range-topping M5 Pro and M5 Max silicon. Continue Reading on AppleInsider | Discuss on our Forums
